Green Guide Gent v2.0.0 — From MVP to a Mature Platform

In September, we officially launched the Green Guide Gent app to the public.

To kick things off, we partnered with Greenway:

Users who downloaded the app and created an account received a voucher for a free pita kebab.

What happened next exceeded expectations:

Since the launch, the focus has been on strengthening the foundation.

Over the past months, I revisited the foundation of the app — both structurally and visually. What started as an MVP has evolved into a more robust, scalable and user-centered platform.

I’ve:

• Refined the points and rewards system to make it clearer and more transparent
• Improved onboarding and in-app guidance
• Strengthened the voucher system (secure, one per person, no unnecessary personal data)
• Optimized performance and structure for long-term scalability
• Integrated continuous feedback from students and local merchants
• Prepared the app technically for future expansion

Every improvement was built around one central question:

How do we make sustainable choices easier, clearer and more engaging?

This update brings a complete redesign and a more mature product experience.

What’s new:

• A fully reworked visual identity
• Clearer explanations of how the points system works
• Better contextual guidance throughout the app
• Improved structure and consistency across screens
• More transparent communication about the initiative itself
